A letter for the lady at Zee
Jul. 21st, 2012 09:58 pmDear Miss Fenwick.
I heard, at Ms. Fnord's and Mister Bar's fight party, that you where on a holiday at zee. I do hope you are having a lovely time.
I myself haven't yet had the oppurtunity to zail the ocean, but I do own a yatch, so someday I hope I will let anchor and travel to far off islands.
Now I wanted to thank you for keeping my name a secret, and I also wanted to let you know that it is no longer needed to do so.
The main reason for not telling people my name was that I wanted to protect my mother from any evil rumors about my person.
That is, as you know, no longer necessary.
Thank you once again.
Sincerly
Baroness Adelswärd.

Date: 2012-07-27 08:13 pm (UTC)Dear Baroness Adelsward,
I can understand why you might want to keep such information quiet. Truth is so difficult to decipher from falsehood in London, especially among rumormongers. And who can we truly protect, even from ourselves? It is a question of the ages, I think, that many men have philosophized upon while deep in their cups. Equally pondered is the question of what is a secret, what is modesty, and what is a tool for one's furthered purposes. And I need not even begin to expound upon the nature of knowledge and how one arrives at it - I am certain no answers to these questions will be found in our generation or the next. Mysteries of the ages, if you will, as uniquely tied to our human nature as we are.
As for zailing, I cannot say that I have spoken well of it in the past, but I might suggest that a yacht is a lovely method of undertaking such a voyage, so that one might traverse at a leisurely pace. And Mutton Island is quite a fine diversion from --well-- everything that London is.
I hope this letter finds you quite well, and recovering from your loss,
Kind regards,
Scarlet O. Fenwick
